THE BEST VIDEO EQUIPMENT 2022: DATA AND STORAGE

As a creative director and video editor with over 16 billion views online, I have had the chance to use a range of equipment. So, I wanted to create a list of the most amazing video equipment for 2022 - This list focuses on storage and data.

SD CARDS

Starting off with the basics; storage is so important. Owning a large capacity and high-speed SD card will always help on shoots. Changing SD cards in the middle of a shoot can be a stressful process, reformatting cards, sorting through the videos that can ‘actually’ be deleted and those videos you refuse to remove can take up tonnes of space!

Some of my favourite SD cards include:

• SanDisk Extreme PRO 256GB SDXC Memory Card up to 170MB/s

• SanDisk Ultra 256GB SDXC Memory Card, Up to 120 MB/s

SSDs and Hard Drives

SSDs and hard drives are perhaps the biggest saving grace when it comes to housing terabytes of footage and keeping memories/shoots stored forever. I use a range of hard drives and SSDs. See below:

DOCKING STATIONS

Keeping my own workspace tidy and manageable is also really important. This allows me to work to the best of my ability. I find cable management and hard drive docks are a great way to integrate storage into your home setup and studios. My favourite docks include:
